Go Red For Women Wellness Retreat & Executive Luncheon

Thank you to everyone who celebrated International Women's Day with us at the Wellness Retreat & Executive Luncheon at the westdrift Manhattan Beach! Over 300 guests joined us for a morning of female empowerment focused on health and wellness.

The event included a bustling wellness expo and silent auction highlighting local health and medical companies alongside interactive booths enabling guests to mingle and network. This year's featured companies included: Beach Cities Health District, Cigna, Citizens of Humanity, Countertop Foods, Elegance Spa, Goomi Group, Kaiser Permanente, KUT from the Kloth, L’ANZA Healing Haircare, Lemonade, Macy's, Movita Juice Bar, MyIntent Project, Providence Health & Services, Red Dress Project by the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Kendra Scott, Southbay Magazine, UCLA Health, and Yogaworks South Bay.
Guests were able to choose two of ten available Breakout Sessions to learn more about the heart health and wellness topics of their choice.

Thousand Island
2 Tbsp. reduced-fat (2%) plain Greek yogurt, 2 Tbsp. all-natural mayonnaise, 1 Tbsp. all-natural ketchup, 1 to 2 Tbsp. finely chopped red bell pepper, 1 to 2 Tbsp. finely chopped onion, 1 Tbsp. chopped butter pickles, ½ tsp. apple cider vinegar, 1 Tbsp. water, 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)
My Special Sauce
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 packet of stevia, 1 tsp. dijon mustard
Master of Ceremonies ABC 7's Denise Dador kicked off the luncheon program with guest speaker GRFW South Bay Chair Anne Lemaire the Executive Director of Operations at Providence Little Company of Mary San Pedro & Torrance. The lunch also highlighted South Bay-native Helen Savard who survived a cardiac arrest in 2017 after receiving CPR from a bystander and a heart-healthy recess dance break sponsored by Kaiser Permanente South Bay and featured special guest Taylor Dayne who performed her hit "Tell it to My Heart."
Guests also competed in a heart-healthy trivia challenge co-hosted by Veena Crownholm of The Millennial Mamas and Crystal Egger, Emmy winning meteorologist and host, and founder of A Sunny Space documentary series.
All guests in attendance received gift bags courtesy of Cigna.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Go Red for Women and support critical lifesaving research, local education and awareness programs, and advocacy efforts.
