Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues -
As many of you know, the American Heart Association has been one of the most treasured organizations that Lee and I have supported over the years. We personally make an annual investment toward the mission of the organization, we have seen the amazing work they do, we have made life-long friends through their events, and we will always consider ourselves part of the Heart Family.
As I sit here on the 1-year anniversary of Lee's passing, I am inspired to honor her once again, by giving back to the organization that works tirelessly to build healthier lives for all. Accordingly, I am asking each of you to join me, and consider donating to this extremely worthy cause.
AHA is vastly changing the culture of health in our Los Angeles community and across the country/world. Heart disease and stroke still remain the No. 1 and No. 2 killers (respectively) in the world, causing more deaths than all cancers, HIV/AIDS, and diabetes combined. The AHA has funded more than $3.7 billion in heart disease and stroke research, more than any organization outside the federal government, and they also fund local programs in our schools and underserved communities; to include kids cooking with chefs, teaching gardens, healthy cooking seminars, blood-pressure screenings, CPR training, physical activity programs, and much more!
I will keep this page open until Valentines Day, in memory of my love. All donations over $1,000 will be showcased on a Tribute Wall at the annual Heart Ball in June. It is critical that we help improve the health of our community, band together for those who need it most, and most importantly - SAVE LIVES!
Thank you in advance,
Bill Wood
